Sunrise at Skypark

Site Info and Accessibility

The Skypark Cairns site is situated in magical rainforest in the heart of Far North Queensland, inclusive of a fully licensed bar and cafe, tailor made spectating platforms and viewing decks plus a breathtaking outdoor amphitheatre.

The Skypark Cairns Bungy tower is situated 15 kilometres from Cairns and stands 50 metres above a 5 metre deep lagoon.

The tower is 30m wide at the base and 15m wide at the top. It’s extremely stable, surviving winds of up to 180km/h during Cyclone Joy, which sat 50km off the coast of Cairns for several days during December 1990.

The tower is surrounded by tropical rainforest, featuring old eucalyptus and an advancing rainforest understory. Snakes, goannas and the stunning Ulysses butterfly are often seen roaming the site. A carefully designed path provides access through the rainforest from the carpark to the bungee tower.

Weighing 26 tonnes the tower was designed and fabricated here in North Queensland but it took three solid months of excavation before the tower could be put in place.

Our world class Jump Menu allows Bungy enthusiasts to Jump 16 different styles, from the classic swan dive to a running roof jump! Cairns is the only Bungy site in the world to offer this range of jumps, and over the past two decades customers from all corners of the globe have embraced the opportunity to jump. The Crusty Demons ran off the roof with a shopping trolley, Australian TV personality Grant Denyer rode the BMX off the roof, and Slash from Guns N' Roses jumped twice doing the classic swan dive and back dive. The Cairns Bungy Tower has jumped an array of celebrities including Hollywood heart throb, Zac Efron, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Miss Universe and John Denver, to name but a few.

Today the site has evolved to so much more than Bungy and now includes two additional products in the Giant Swing and BRAND NEW for 2021, Walk the Plank.

Accessibility

Our Commitment to Accessible Adventure

At Skypark Cairns, we believe that the challenge and thrill of adventure should be open to everyone. Our global purpose is to help people overcome personal barriers, and this commitment is at the heart of our approach to accessibility. We recognise and welcome guests with physical, mental, and invisible disabilities, and our team is dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all.

Planning Your Visit & Site Access

Our park is nestled in a natural rainforest environment. To help you plan your visit, please be aware of the following:

  • Site Terrain: The main path from our car park to the reception area involves a walk of approximately six minutes up a hill, which has a fairly steep incline in some parts.

  • Alternative Access: We understand this may not be suitable for everyone. If you have mobility concerns, please phone our reception team ahead of your visit. We will be happy to grant access to our back driveway, allowing you to drive directly up to the main park entrance and avoid the hill.

Mobility Within the Park

Once inside the park, we have a combination of pathways and some stairs. Our crew is always on hand and ready to provide assistance. Whether you need help lifting a wheelchair or simply a steadying arm on the stairs, please don't hesitate to ask. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities.

Accessible Activities & Support

We are proud to offer all of our activities—the Bungy Jump, Giant Swing, and Walk the Plank—to people with disabilities.

  • Customised Experiences: Our experienced team can modify our experiences to cater for most disabilities. We regularly work with NDIS providers and their clients to create tailored, safe, and unforgettable adventures.

  • Bespoke Planning: For guests who may benefit from deeper planning, our team can work with you to design a custom and detailed itinerary ahead of your visit. This ensures the day is well-planned with no surprises, making your experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

  • Let's Talk: The best way to ensure a seamless experience is to plan ahead. We strongly encourage you to phone or email our reception team to discuss your individual needs. This allows us to work together to plan any necessary adjustments and ensure our team is fully prepared to give you the best possible experience on the day.
