Safety

AJ Hackett International has a commitment to effectively manage Health, Safety and Welfare for all of our stakeholders.

We strive to achieve a high level of safety for our customers and crew through the following methods:

-Providing adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities by complying with the requirements of health and safety legislation.

-Utilising digital platforms for scheduled inspections and maintenance to maintain safe plant and equipment across our sites around the globe.

-Ensuring all employees are given adequate and effective training and are competent to carry out their tasks safely.

-Prevent accidents and cases of ill health through effective risk management and hazard reporting methods.

-Effectively manage risk or potential for incident through the use of specialised technology and equipment, operational awareness, site design and crisis procedures.

-Maintain clean, safe and healthy conditions for employees and customers alike.

The Code of Practice for Bungy Jumping, AS/NZS 5848, was developed 30 years ago by AJ Hackett in conjunction with the New Zealand and Australian Governments. AJ Hackett's compliance with local legislation is complimented by our commitment to adherence of our internal company policies, operational procedures and guidelines.

With each AJ Hackett site being so diverse in their offer of locations and activities, each site operates strictly to site specific operating manuals, using the principles from these standards to safely operate and maintain all of our activities.

-AJ Hackett crew members are trained to the highest standards. As they develop and progress they must pass examinations in their training plans to qualify and be certified as an operator for that activity.

-Jump crew are trained with the goal of becoming a certified AJ Hackett International Jump Master. This training can take up to 2 years and they are trained to the standards of Jump Master Accreditation. Once passed they complete regular refresher courses and examinations to keep their skills sharp and up to date with organizational changes.

-All activity-related equipment used by AJ Hackett International is produced using the highest-available manufacturing standards. PPE and other operational equipment requires ratings and certifications of compliance that meets local and international standards. Critical components have a minimum breaking load of 20 kN. That means it can hold over 2000kg.

-Bungy cords are manufactured specifically for each site by AJ Hackett International. Only the best natural latex rubber thread is used, made with a technique that has been passed down through the generations of bungy gurus and developed today into what has become the modern day Bungy cord. The rubber thread is elongation and age tested at the factory to ensure that each batch we receive is extremely consistent and predictable.

-Safety redundancies are built into our jump systems as an extra level of comfort and increased safety. From Bungy cords with webbing, swimming pools and water under the jump zone and bespoke dampener systems designed and used only on AJ Hackett International sites.
